Divya Singh resigns as RPSC Member

Divya Singh, erstwhile Maharani of Bharatpur and wife of Vishvendra Singh, erstwhile Jat Maharaja has resigned as member of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) where she was appointed a year ago. A former BJP member of Lok Sabha and Rajasthan Assembly, the wife of Scion of Bharatpur royal family Vishwendra Singh, Divya Singh has quit as Member of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission(RPSC). She has mailed her resignation to Governor Margaret Alva and RPSC Chairman Habeeb Khan Gauran yesterday as per report. Her husband Vishwendra Singh had quit the BJP and joined the Congress prior to the State Assembly polls in 2008 and contested unsuccessfully the election from Kumher. Ms Singh, a BJP member in the dissolved 12th assembly, was also offered ticket by the BJP for contesting Jaipur rural seat in 2009 Lok Sabha polls, but she had refused to avail the ticket.

CBI to Probe role of MLAs in Bharatpur riots

Special CBI court has ordered an investigation into the role of Zahida Khan, Congress MLA from Kaman constituency, Anita Singh, BJP legislator from Nagar constituency in Bharatpur district and a few others in the Gopalgarh violence case. On September 14, 2011, ten persons of Mev Muslim community were killed and few others were injured in clashes between members of Mev and Gujjar communities over a land-related dispute in Gopalgarh in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district. It was alleged that key witnesses had made statements attributing specific role to these legislators, but the CBI had not carried out investigation against them. Taking note of the statements made by accused, the special court directed the CBI to investigate role of the two MLAs and the two other persons. 
As per the chargesheet, 15 people belonging to Gopalgarh, Pahari and nearby villages have been charged under Section 302 (murder), Section 307 (attempt to murder), alongside Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging of his duties) of the IPC since a mob on September 14, 2011 had attacked the police. The CBI has also charged the accused under Section 435 of the IPC (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage) as many people had complained of damage to their agricultural produce.

Don't link Maderna issue with caste: Dr Chandrabhan

Rajasthan Congress on said the arrest of jat leader Mahipal Maderna should not be linked with caste issue. "There is no one in the party who is biased against any caste," Rajasthan Congress chief Chandrabhan told reporters here in reply to a question. "Maderna was sacked from the ministry to ensure that investigations into the matter is not affected due to his ministerial position," he said. Maderna was arrested by the CBI on Friday night in Jodhpur in connection with Bhanwari Devi abduction case.
Maderna, who represents Osian Assembly constituency, was sacked from the Cabinet on October 16 by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot after his name cropped up in abduction of health worker Bhanwari Devi.

Rahul Gandhi visits Gopalgarh in Bharatpur

Congress General secretary, Rahul Gandhi, today morning made a surprise visit to Gopalgarh area of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan, where the violence took place last month which claim 8 Life. According to the sources, Rahul Gandhi’s Gopalgarh visit was  sudden and a surprise check to the place and the prevailing information. No prior information was given to government and state administration. Rahul gandhi visit gopalgarh early morning with MoS Jitendra singh. Bharatpur District collector Gaurav goyal conform the report.
It is believed that Rahul Gandhi’s sudden visit was in order to get a feel of the conditions, the place is going through. According to some media reports, Rahul Gandhi already visited 2-3 villages nearby gopalgarh to met the families of the violence victims, and the families of deceased. Earlier the congress party sent its team to make a review of the gopalgarh vioence, in which they held State Home Minister responsible, for  negligence. The CBI few days ago visited the Gopalgarh area too.

Vasundhara Raje visits Gopalgarh, Ask CM to resign

Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje visited Gopalgarh on Wednesday, where 10 people died in police firing and violence recently. “The Congress is not capable of running the state. The Gopalgarh incident is rather sad and reflects poorly on the administration,’’ Raje said during her visit. She also demanded chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s resignation. “Just accepting administrative lapses will do no good. For the way the incident was handled, the chief minister should voluntarily resign on moral grounds,’’ she said.
Raje met the representatives of both the communities and along with the family members of the victims. She visited the mosque in Gopalgarh and the disputed land. “The state government is absolutely insensitive. It took the chief minister 10 days to visit the spot where 10 people had died. The Congress leaders are busy in the infighting and making contradictory statements,’’ she said. Raje was accompanied by a team of senior MLAs including Rajendra Rathore, Kalicharan Saraf, Ashok Parnami, Dr Digambar Singh and party vice-president Suman Sharma.

Krishnendra Kaur

Krishnendra Kaur (Deepa) is a former member of Lok Sabha . She was elected to Lok Sabha from Bharatpur in Rajasthan as candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. She is from former royal family of Bharatpur.She was born in 1954 and had her education at Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ Public School, Jaipur.She has been a member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Nadbai. Elected to Rajasthan Legislative assembly in 2008.

Kunwar Natwar Singh

Kunwar Natwar Singh was born on May 16, 1931, at Jaghina village in Bharatpur, Rajastan, India. He belongs to Bhagaur Gotra in Jat community. Maharaja Bachchu Singh was the relative of Patiala royal family and Mr. Natwar Singh is also the relative of Patiala family. Mr. Natwar Singh's father served the Royal Army of Bharatpur Province. He was for a while a minister without portfolio after having been removed from his post as Minister in charge of External Affairs on November 7, 2005 under a cloud of scandal. Named by U.N. Volcker committee as a beneficiary of illegal payoffs in Iraqi oil scam, was forced to resign from the Cabinet on Dec 6, 2005.
Natwar Singh attended Mayo College and Scindia School, Gwalior. He was an undergraduate at St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He subsequently studied at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University and at Peking University in China.
